When Good News Brewing O’Fallon opened in 2017, the small 1 Barrel system was not enough for the demand.  Dan and Matt had to use another brewery to brew their recipes on their larger brew system.  They knew this was not a good long term solution so they decided to find a new location to brew beer.  A friend of theirs told them a BBQ place on the Katy Trail was for sale.  They knew the exact location, as that building inspired them to put garage doors on their O’Fallon location.  After one visit, they had a contract in place and was able to purchase a 7 Barrel brewhouse. 

They knew on the first day they opened this was a good decision...it also happened to be the first day of spring and thousands of people visited wine country and the Katy Trail.  The owners will never forget that first weekend and how they ran out of food in 2 hours and how it took 45 minutes just to get customers a beer.  After hiring more staff and buying more beer taps, Good News Defiance has been a great destination for families, cyclists, and those wanting to get away from the suburbs.
