When Good News Brewing O’Fallon opened in 2017, the small 1 Barrel system was not enough for the demand. We had to use another brewery to brew our recipes on their larger brew system. We knew this was not a good long term solution so We decided to find a new location to brew beer. A cycling friend told us about a BBQ place on the Katy Trail for sale. We knew the exact location, as that building inspired us to put garage doors on our O’Fallon location. After one visit, we had a contract in place and was able to purchase a 7 Barrel brewhouse.
We knew on the first day we opened this was a good decision...it also happened to be the first day of spring and thousands of people visited wine country and the Katy Trail. We will never forget that first weekend and how we ran out of food in 2 hours and how it took 45 minutes just to get customers a beer. After a few years, we realized this locations was not big enough for our brew system, so we moved the equipment to Augusta.
Good News Defiance is a great destination for families, cyclists, dog lovers, and those wanting to get away from the suburbs.
